What is the difference between 24K, 22K and 18K gold?
24K gold is 99.9% pure and is used for coins and bars. 22K gold (91.6% pure, hallmark 916) is the usual choice for Indian gold jewellery. 18K gold (75% pure, hallmark 750) is harder, so it is used for diamond and gemstone jewellery that needs a strong setting.
